The Francis Marion National Forest of South Carolina has a requirement for the thinning of approximately 1,000 acres of forest and midstory treatment of 120 acres. Work also includes someroad maintenance for roads in the project area. This work will be accomplished under the Stewardship Program. Under this program the Contractors will be permitted to remove the timber for chipping purposes and provide Forest Service with a percentage of the proceeds. The soliciation will be available on this website on or about 30 Aug 2005. A pre-bid site visit will be held at the Witherbee Ranger District on Thurs 8 Sep 2005 at 10:00 AM
