The Francis Marion National Forest of South Carolina has a requirement for the thinning of approximately 1,000 acres of forest and midstory treatment of 120 acres. Work also includes someroad maintenance for roads in the project area. This work will be accomplished under the Stewardship Program. Under this program the Contractors will be permitted to remove the timber for chipping purposes and provide Forest Service with a percentage of the proceeds.
