This project requires hand crews with chainsaws and other applicable cutting tools for removal of mid-story hardwood tree species in longleaf pine stands to improve habitat conditions for red-cockaded woodpeckers. The Contractor is responsible for determining the best method and manner to accomplish this work in compliance with the terms, conditions and specifications. The Contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, supplies and incidentals. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to leave and/or cut appropriate trees that are identified in the specifications. This project will consist of an estimated quantity of 129.4 acres, located on the southern end of Talladega Ranger District, Clay and Talladega counties, Alabama.
