The Contractor shall provide pygmy rabbit (Brachylagus idahoensis) inventorying services in sagebrush habitats of eastern Oregon for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Inventory will involve following transect lines through tall and dense sagebrush habitats on foot or on horseback to locate pygmy rabbit burrows, small rabbit pellets and visual identification of the rabbits themselves. Inventory area will cover approximately 60,000 acres in two areas of eastern Oregon (approximately 30,000 acres each). Due to the nature of the federal funding available for this project, the firm conducting the inventory must provide a 1:1 match of the federal funds to perform the work under the contract. The BLM will pay the Contractor half the contract price for the contract. The firm's matching contribution may be cash, in-kind services or use of equipment or vehicles provided directly by the Contractor or a third party, as long as the contribution is not federally-derived. This is a five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity services contract not to exceed $500,000 (BLM-paid portion). This solicitation will be posted electronically.
