The purpose of this contract is to secure services for precommercial thinning of approximately 1266 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 20 to 32 years old. The project area is located on the Tongass National Forest?s Petersburg Ranger District, on Kuiu Island. This area is approximately 50 miles west of the city of Petersburg and 20 miles southwest of the village of Kake. The performance period is 120 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about March 12, 2007 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation AG-0116-S-07-0008. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date.
