The purpose of this contract is to acquire processing and analysis work for LiDAR and multispectral imagery data to assist the Pacific Northwest Forest Inventory and Analysis Program (PNW-FIA), in accomplishing the tasks listed in this synopsis.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
LiDAR and Multispectral Imagery Data Processing and Analysis Tasks ââ¬â PNW-FIA
I Programming Tasks
All programming will be performed in C/C++ languages
a) Extract portions of very large (often > 1GB) binary or ASCII data files to new files by using custom, user-specified criteria.
b) Process binary and/or ASCII data files to new, user-defined formats.
c) Script map algebra algorithms to be used on raster data.
d) Script local and focal spatial functions for processing raster data.
e) Script point-pattern analysis algorithms to be used with three-dimensional point data.
f) Develop scripts that would assess and quantify the intensity and direction of spatial autocorrelation in raster three-dimensional point data.
All algorithms and functions would be provided by PNW-FIA analysts as flow charts.
II. Analysis Tasks
a) Perform graphical and analytical exploratory data analysis to identify potential relationships between remotely-sensed information (either LiDAR or raster) and field-measured, forest inventory data.
b) Develop regression and multivariate models that would assess forest inventory and structure parameters from remotely-sensed information using relationships identified in task a.
The sequence, timing, and explicit formulation of tasks would be determined by PNW-FIA analysts according to the progress or completion of intermediate work steps and analysis results.
