The Eldorado National Forest is soliciting competitive offers for the Independence Stewardship Project. The Independence Stewardship Project is located within T.11N., R.11E., M.D.B.&M. Sealed – “Best Value” offers will be received at the Forest Supervisor's Office at 10:00 AM local time on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, for an estimated 1,646 hundred cubic feet (CCF) (822 M board feet) of timber marked or otherwise designated for cutting and 5 stewardship projects. In addition there is within the project area an unestimated volume of combined softwood cull logs that the bidder may agree to remove. The Forest Service will evaluate competitive offers submitted by offerors who present a price and technical proposal according to the information found under the section in the offer titled “Instructions to Offerors.” Evaluation factors for this project are technical approach, capability and past performance, utilization of local workforce, and price. One award will be made to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and whose technical/price relationship is the “best value” to the Government. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all offers. A prospectus is available to the public and interested offerors from the offices listed below. There will be a workshop to discuss stewardship contracting and the offer process for this project and to answer any questions that may arise. This workshop is scheduled for 9:30 AM, May 5, 2004, at the Camino-Pollock Pines Community Center, 2675 Sanders Drive, Pollock Pines, CA.
