Grapple Piling Sources Sought - This is a Sources Sought Synposis. The NAICS code for this project is 115310. The USDA Forest Service, Ochoco National Forest, is seeking to identify potential HUBZOne Certified small businesses that would be interested in competing in a Firm Fixed-Price, Indefinite Quantities, three year contract (2004-2006) for Grapple Piling on the Ochoco National Forest near Prineville, Oregon. A single award is anticipated. The general scope of work is grapple piling a minimum of 400 acres to a maximum of 3,000 acres over a three year period (2004-2006). Work is most normally done from June 1 through November 30. Grapple piling consists of making piles of downed woody debris (slash) using a "lift and pile" track-mounted mechanism. Equipment will pile all reachable slash from existing skid tracks, roads, and landings. Slash piles will be compact and free of dirt.
