This project will be accomplished through the use of a stewardship contract, which authorizes BLM to enter into a service contract allowing for the value of vegetative material removed to be applied as an offset against the cost of services received (Public Law 108-7). The purpose of this contract is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health. The project objective is to improve the health and vigor of Douglas Fir stands in the surrounding Gilmore townsite area by removing small diameter Douglas Fir competition Location of the this project: Approximately 76 miles south of the town of Salmon, Idaho.
