This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for the use of a track mounted whole tree chipper. The contractor will be responsible for felling the trees that are designated for removal. The contractor will chip all felled trees and limbs not marked for wildlife and soil protection. All resource disturbance (i.e. ruts, tracks) created by machinery will be smoothed and retstored to natural appearance. The project consists of approximately 260 acres of burned timber and brush. Approximately 80% of the dead trees will be felled and chipped. The project is located on the Cleveland National Forest, Laguna Mountain Recreation Area. NAICS 115310 SBA $6.0 million. Estimated start date is September 2004. Contract time is 180 calendar days. OFFERS ARE DUE 12:00 NOON. LOCAL TIME, JUNE 25, 2004.Any prospective contractor desiring a solicitation package must request in writing from the Original Point of Contact, Linda Ford, Procurement Assistant, Southern California Province soon enough to allow a reply to reach all prospective contractors before the closing date.
