The purpose of this request for proposal is to secure services for Low Ground Pressure Machine Treatments on the Fremont-Winema National Forests. Treatment shall result in stocked stands as specified with the minimum damage and disease. Low Ground Pressure Machine Treatments may include, slash treatment, grapple piling, and felling within plantations, harvest and fire restoration areas.The Contractor shall also be responsible for recognizing and protecting riparian areas, protecting other resources and providing for wildlife concerns including: snags, threatened, endangered and sensitive specie. The stands to be treated may contain class 3 and class 4 snags and other potential hazards.
The current project areas are located within the boundaries of the Winter, and Toolbox (including Silver) fires. Other project areas may include the Jakabe, South Restoration area, Headwaters and other fire/timber sale areas.
Other project areas may be added by task order within the boundaries of the Fremont-Winema National Forests. Government may award additional work areas not currently specified in this solicitation. This will be a five year Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Hubzone Set-aside project. Expected issue date is May 11, 2005.
