The Bureau of Land Management Yuma Field Office has an upcoming requirement for the planting of potted native plants and native poles as part of the North Mittry Fire Emergency Stabilization and Rehabilitation project. This is a total 8a competitive set-aside. NAICS is 115112 with a size standard of $6M. Place of performance is Yuma, Arizona. The Request for Quotation will be available on or before August 15, 2003. The tree planting will cover approximately 134 acres within the Mittry Lake wildfire area during the months of January, February, and March. The following species Fremont's cottonwood (Populus fremontii), Goodding willow (Salix gooddingii), coyote willow (Salix exigua), seep willow (Baccharis salicifolia), desert willow (Chilopsis linearis), honey mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa), screwbean mesquite (Prosopis pubescens) will be planted. There will primarily be 5,000 1-gallon pots for each species. There will also be a total of 5,000 cottonwood and the Goodding willow poles to be planted. The BLM will purchase the 1-gallon pots and will provide the poles for this tree-planting contract. The project area, approximately 20 miles northeast of Yuma, is south of Imperial Dam in western Yuma County.
