The intent of this contract is to secure services for the piling of down woody material and vegetation to make area suitable for planting seedlings after piles are burned. The project is located on the Tahoe National Forest, Sierraville Ranger District and consist of a total of 485 acres. The project can be reached from Sierraville via highway 89 south 8 miles to Little Truckee summit. Right on Jackson Meadows Road for 2 miles to Independence Lake Road. Left on Independence Lake Road approximately 1 mile to the project area. Estimated starting date October 1, 2004, contract time 240 days.
