The intent of this contract is to secure services for the mastication of overstocked conifer trees, down woody material and competing vegetation. End result will be open pine plantation with reduced competing vegetation and downed woody material with a stocking of 100 to 120 crop trees per acre. In addition there will be scatterd leave clumps and varied spacing and retention of large logs and large snags. This project is located on the Tahoe National Forest, Sierraville Ranger District. Estimated starting date is September 15, 2005, contract time 162 days. The solicitation will be available August 10, 2005.
