The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Warren (ACC-WRN) WVA Contracting Office located at Watervliet Arsenal (WVA) is issuing this sources sought synopsis to notify any interested parties the Government is considering the purchase of existing various chrome plating tooling currently used in the production of chrome plated cannon barrels at the Watervliet Arsenal.

THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This is a request for information on capabilities and interest and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP); submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary and the U.S. Government (USG) assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned.

ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Hartchrom Inc. located at Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, NY has a production contract to chrome plate various cannon barrels and minor plating using the Government owned chrome plating facility at WVA. The Government has decided to return to the organic capabilities of chrome plating and minor plating.

As part of this effort, the Government is interested in procuring a wide range of existing Hartchrom tooling to support the 120mm, M256, 155mm M284 and 155mm M776 cannon systems. This tooling includes the following for various cannon systems:

120mm M256 CANNON:

4 each Full Length Anodes; 1 each Anodes and Cathodes combination; 4 each Lifting Device; 2 each Anodes and Cathodes combination (Chamber only); 2 each Anode Copper Core; 3 each Cathodes, 10 each Centering Device; 8 each Lifting Devices.

Since WVA will begin organic chrome plating in the near term, it is also anticipated that a sole source contract will be pursued with Hartchrom Inc. to purchase this existing, serviceable tooling.

INTERESTED PARTIES. The Government requests interested parties to submit a company brochure (if available) and a tailored capability statement for these requirements that clearly details the ability to perform the aspects of the notice described above.
