SECTION 000020 – LEGAL NOTICE City of Highwood 17 Highwood Avenue Highwood, IL 60040 Everts Park Final Design The City of Highwood does hereby invite sealed bids for Everts Park Final Design. Work will include site clearing, earthwork operations, asphalt paving, concrete curbs and paving, site furnishings, playfield equipment, splash pad equipment, shelters, planting and seeding, stone masonry, and lighting installation. Project manuals, including bid form and specifications, and construction documents are available after 10:00 AM on September 9, 2020 from Accurate Reprographics, https://www.hitchcockplanroom.com/, 2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100, Naperville, Illinois 60563, phone 630-428-4433 for the cost of reproduction. Refer to Section 000100 “Invitation to Bid” for information regarding the pre-bid meeting. Bids will be accepted at the City of Highwood, 17 Highwood Avenue Highwood, IL 60040, during regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name and address, and “Bid for Everts Park Final Design,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be received no later than 10:00 AM on September 30, 2020. Bids will be opened at 10:01 AM on September 30, 2020 at the City of Highwood, 17 Highwood Avenue Highwood, IL 60040. All bidders will be required to submit Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, Certified Check, Cashier’s Check in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, payable to the City of Highwood. The successful bidder, as determined by the City of Highwood, shall be required to pay, and to agree to pay no less than the Prevailing Rate of Wages, pursuant to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130) for the locality of the City of Highwood (Lake County), to each laborer worker, or mechanic needed or used to complete the work as detailed in the contract to be let. The successful contractor, and all subcontractors shall be required to submit, to the City of Highwood, certified payrolls no later than the tenth day of each calendar month for the immediately preceding month. The City of Highwood reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the City of Highwood. The City of Highwood encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
