NOTICE TO BIDDERS Electronic informal price quotations addressed to Gerardo Noriega, CTPM, Director of Purchasing & Contracting, City of McAllen, Purchasing & Contracting Department will be received on June 2, 2017 at 4:00 PM. Informal price quotation must be filed via the bidding portal and hard copy with the City of McAllen’s on or before the aforementioned date and time Description of Work: The City of McAllen is accepting bids from qualified bidders for the improvements at Escandon Skateboard Park. Improvements include grading, aggregate base, concrete flat work and sub-slabs, sidewalks and other appurtenances. The city of McAllen will provide precast concrete components (list of components is shown on page SP-1 on the plans). Payment and Performance Bonds shall be executed except in the event that the total amount bid is $50,000 or less, the successful contractor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the City of McAllen in lieu of a Performance Bond. In the event that the total amount bid is $25,000 or less, the successful contractor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the City of McAllen in lieu of a Payment and Performance Bond. This project is being funded, in part, by Community Development Block Grant funds and is sub¬ject to the following Federal requirements: Executive Order 11246; Clause 3 of the HUD Act of 1968; Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968; and Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts as well as State laws and regulations. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin. Plans & specs may be viewed electronically. Once on the portal, after you have logged in you can click on the button titled “Documents” for details. Potential bidders are asked to post their questions on our bidding portal under the tab labeled “Questions” under the relative project number. Bids are to be submitted electronically, attaching all forms as called for. The City of McAllen reserves the right to refuse and reject any or all Bids and to waive any or all formalities or technicalities, or to accept the Bid considered the best and most advantageous to the City and to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days without taking action thereon.
