The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Natick Soldier RD&E Center (NSRDEC) CB Innovative Materials & Ensemble Development Team intends to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) to only one responsible source, Thermetrics, for a Six (6) zone sweating guarded hot plate with variable test plate that can test samples. Thermetrics is only vendor found who can meet present specifications for custom 6-zone variable sized SGHP capable of measuring sample sizes with dynamic sweating delivery system, active cooling, and dynamic heatflux sensor, integrated chamber that can operate without plumbing to laboratory facilities needed. No other 6-zone sweating guard hot plates with present requirements were found that satisfy the requirement or response time.
