The Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS), Office on Womenâs Health (OWH),
through the Program Support Center, Division of Acquisitions Managements, intends to award a 12 sole source contract using simplified acquisition procedures to Voices of Men, 7 Riverview Ave., Maynard MA 01754.
The Office on Womenâs Health requires the services of a contractor to present âVoices of Men,â a one-man play, to educate college-aged audiences about sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and other forms of menâs violence against women. âVoices of Menâ is unique in that it is an edutainment activity which effectively educates and engages men around sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and other forms of Violence Against Women.
The primary purpose of this contract is obtain services which will engage college-aged men and the campus community about sexual violence and other forms of violence as a supplement to the End Violence Against Women on Colleges/Universities Program.
The Office on Womenâs Health requires the services of the contractor to implement a minimum of nine (9) performances. The performances will be held on the campus of colleges/universities participating in the OWH funded End Violence Against Women on Colleges/Universities program. The specific locations will be named in September 2009.
The contractor shall be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Attend the 2009 OWH contractor orientation and perform a snippet of âVoices of Men.â
Collaborate with and provide technical assistance to the OWH funded contractors related
to the planning and logistical needs for implementing the performances.
Participate in the End Violence Against Women on College Campuses conference calls
on dates scheduled by OWH staff.
Implement and participate in a minimum of nine (9) events on OWH designated college
and university campuses.
Engage college-aged men in dialogue and discussion focused on menâs prevention of
Violence Against Women through guest talks, leadership trainings and/or workshops on
nine (9) OWH designated campuses.
Submit one (1) progress report after every three (3) events are completed. The progress reports shall include results from surveys, the strengths and weaknesses, and lessons learned from the performances.
The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
