THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE (RFQ). A RFQ WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), intends to award a contract on a noncompetitive basis to Stratasys Inc

for the following:

- EMERALD CARE 450

This action is to be undertaken in accordance with FAR 13.106 (b) Soliciting from a single source, on the basis that the vendor is the only known source capable of meeting the government’s requirements.

Stratasys, the designer and manufacturer of the Fortus 450 (3D printer), is the only company trained to perform maintenance on the machine. The company has proprietary knowledge of the internal functioning of the machine and has trained service employees who can troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on the Fortus 450. Having another company other than Stratasys perform maintenance will void the warranty left on the machine and parts as Stratasys would not be responsible for any damage caused by untrained service technicians.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotes. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Responses to this electronic notice must be made by 8:00 am EST on 2 February 2021. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
