A cryo-transfer holder is required to load cryo-em samples and keep the samples at cryogenic temperature for cryo-em data collection. This new designed Elsa cryo-transfer holder can hold the liquid nitrogen for up to 8 hours. With this holder and automatic data collection software, NIDDK cryo-em facility users can run the experiments through overnight which will greatly improve the efficiency of all the cryo-em research projects. Elsa cryo-transfer holder is a newly designed cryo-em holder which is required for cryo-em work. It has a Dewar that can hold liquid nitrogen to keep the cryo-em samples, which is loaded onto the tip of the holder, at cryogenic temperature for up to 8 hours. To keep the sample at cryogenic temperature is crucial for collecting cryo-em images.
