This sources sought, in accordance with FAR Part 10, is to conduct market research on industry capability to construct a pedestrian trail bridge for the Department of Interior, National Park Service, at El Morro National Monument. This is a Sources Sought ONLY. The synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited; no basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this Sources Sought or Government use of any information provided other then market research. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business, 8(a), or any other set aside arrangement as deemed appropriate based on the responses for this notice. If you are interested, please submit your detailed capabilities in writing to demonstrate same or similar experience. This is not a request for proposal or invitation to bid. No proposal package, solicitation, specification or drawings are available with this announcement. Response to this announcement is strictly voluntary; no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought announcement or any follow-up information requests. The Government anticipates conducting a negotiated, simplified acquisition for this requirement. The amount of interest or lack thereof will determine the possibility of a competitive set-aside or full and open competition. Misrepresentation of size status can result in penalties (the size of a small business firm includes all parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, etc.-see 13 CFR 121.108). Analysis of the quality of responses to this sources sought announcement will be considered in the market research being conducted, and in the making of any small business set-aside determination for this requirement. NAICS Code: 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction PSC Code: Y1LB, Construction of Highways, roads, streets, bridges and railways Estimated Cost Range: $100,000 - $250,000 Estimated Period of Performance: 15 October 2019 – 28 February 2020 Project Description: Trail bridge for pedestrian foot traffic and park maintenance equipment. Bridge span is approximately 40’ x 6’-8’ wide. 5. The new bridge will be a prefabricated steel truss bridge that has a rail height of 48 inches. The bridge railings (truss) and deck beams will be Corten, aka, weathering steel. The trusses allow NPS to remove the supports in the middle of the channel. The new bridge tread can be either 3x10 wood decking or concrete. Both materials are placed on the bridge after it has been erected. Design of the bridge foundations will be required. Project Location: This project is located at the El Morro National Monument in New Mexico. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The Government anticipates award of one (1) firm-fixed price construction contract. All relevant input is encouraged.
