The Elevator Section of the Utilities and Energy Management Department at the University of Texas at Austin is soliciting proposals from qualified Elevator Companies for modernization of Elevators as described herein and in accordance with the terms, conditions and requirements set forth in this Request for Proposal, RFP No. 20UTL010. This Request for Proposal (âRFPâ) provides sufficient information for interested parties to prepare and submit proposals for consideration by University. The scope of work is for the complete Code compliant installation of the Elevators. Plan and schedule the complete Replacement or Modernization of the described Elevator in accordance with the latest effective issue of the ASME A17.1 2007 Code per TDLR. The Contractor shall be responsible for Code compliance in all phases of construction; This proposal shall include all necessary requirements to meet a turn-key installation including all architectural, structural, fire sprinkler, and electrical components including the associated engineering and design. All items shall be submitted for Owners approval. The Elevator Contractor shall submit a project schedule with projected lead times and expected completion dates for each phase of the project. The University of Texas desires to have this Project completed as quickly as possible with as little disruption to the University of Texas as possible. The start date for this project will be established with the awarded Contractor at the Pre-Construction meeting to be held with the various entities at the building. This Pre Construction meeting will be held within one month after the award date. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at 3rd Floor Conference Room 3.304 of PPE Building at 215 East 24th Street, Austin, Texas 78713, The University of Texas at Austin, on MARCH 30, 2020 at 12:00 PM The Conference (with representatives of the Owner, Architect, and Engineer), will be held to discuss proposal procedures and requirements, Construction Documents, project special conditions, and HUB good-faith requirements of the Respondent as well as allow visits to the site on specific projects. At this meeting, Respondents will have an opportunity to ask any questions regarding this RFP.
