The U.S. Geological Survey, Geology, Energy and Minerals Stable Isotope Lab (GEMSIL), located in Reston, VA, has a requirement to purchase a lab instrument system that includes an elemental analyzer with autosampler for the conversion of solid materials containing carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur for the isotopic measurement of those elements. Such solid samples are converted to gaseous form using the elemental analyzer and the autosampler provides a way to load and deliver solid samples to the elemental analyzer. The produced gas is then delivered to the Delta V Plus Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) that is in use in the GEMSIL. Refer to the Specifications, B.1.
