The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract order to Thermo Electron North America, LLC West Palm Beach, FL for a Element 2XR mass spectrometer including standard inlet system(200uL/min concentric nebulizer, quartz cyclonic SC) wit the following options: mass flow controller for addition of make up-gas(Ar), Mass flow controller for addition of He (for laser ablation), Mass flow controller for addition of make up-gas (O2), Enhanced inlet system (PFA-ST nebulizer; O-ring free quartz SC; PFA end cap; quartz injector; O-ring free quartz torch, Laser ablation interface (Qtz double pass SC with for laser aerosol and nebulizer; PFA 20 ul/min neb,E2A/S built-in auto sampler for E2(4 racks for us samples and 2 racks for 50ml centrifuge tubes), Apex Q desolvating inlet system, Apex HF desolvating inlet system, Platinum sampler cone, copper base (ESI), Platinum skimmer cone, copper base (ESI), PFA-pt kit with PFA 100 &PFA ST nebulizers, 2mm Pt injector, quartz torch, PFA spray chamber, SC-FAST upgrade for SC-E-2 auto sampler, PC3 Peltier cooed spray chamber (includes baffled quartz cyclonic spray chamber. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1. Thermo Electron North America, LLC is the only source for this equipment. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
