INTRODUCTION
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD announces its intention to procure support for ECP 639. This Engineering Change Proposal is responsible for NRE and recurring for A1 Kits, ECP development and logistics data. This effort is in support of the APG-73/APG-79(V)4 retrofit plan for Quantity 98 USMC F/A-18 C/D Aircraft.
THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible small business firms capable of providing the services described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Each order will be synopsized on the FedBizOps website as applicable in FAR 5.201(b).
ELIGIBILITY
The PSC for this requirement is 1680; the NAICS is 336413 with a size standard of 1500 employees. All interested businesses are encouraged to respond.
ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
The anticipated period of performance is 18 months. The anticipated start date is 28 February 2020.
ANTICIPATED CONTRACT TYPE
The contract type is anticipated to be Firm Fixed Price (FFP).
PROGRAM BACKGROUND
The APG-73 radar system, currently installed on F/A-18C/D aircraft, has been subject to ongoing maintainability, supportability, and readiness issues. To alleviate these issues, the USN has procured the design and development of the APG-79(V)4 Radar. ECP 639 is intended to modify USMC F/A-18C/D aircraft for AN/APG-79(V)4 incorporation.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
The contractor shall have knowledge of the F/A-18C/D platforms and mission computer interfaces. The effort will include the following: NRE and recurring for A1 Kits, ECP/TD development and logistics data.

This is not a follow-on effort.
