The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place a sole-source firm fixed price order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-05-G-0026 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC) (A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company) of St. Louis, Missouri 63166, for the procurement of thirty six (36) kits that include the retrofit solution to fixing the cracks located at Y555.5 & Y568 at Keel Longeron Life Limit on the wing of the F/A-18E/F. The objective is to provide DEPOT level personel with the supplies to modify the aircraft by forcemate/bushing holes common to the Y555.5 and Y568 formers, the keel longeron and the center line drop link; installing force-mate bushings in tri-mill holes; and replacing clips (with receptacles) on back face of Y555.5 former flange. Projected period of performance is 1 July 2008 through 1 July 2010. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F/A-18E/F aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort.
