WSDA seeks to develop an economic impact study of Washington’s agricultural fairs industry to evaluate the economic effects provided by visitation (and non-visitation) to Washington’s many agricultural fairs on local, state, and federal economies individually and as a group in the areas of tax revenue, labor, and direct, indirect, and induced economic contributions, as well as an estimate of “consumer surplus” or economic benefit, which includes education, public awareness and wellbeing.
