Purpose of Procurement Pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Quotes (¿eRFQ¿) is being issued to establish a contract with one or more qualified suppliers who will provide e-Card Services to the The University System of Georgia Board of Regents - Georgia Public Library System (hereinafter, ¿the State Entity¿) as further described in this eRFQ. The Board of Regents University System of GA requesting bids for online ecard registration on behalf of the GA Public Library System (GPLS). The objective of this procurement is to obtain the services of a qualified firm for GPLS to provide ecard registration services to Georgia public libraries that will provide patron address verification and standardization. This includes 62 public library systems within the State of Georgia. GPLS improves the quality of life for Georgians by providing information and by encouraging reading, literacy and education through the continuing support and improvement of Georgia¿s public libraries. GPLS administers a statewide integrated library system ensuring that citizens living in any community in Georgia have access to materials across the state. Georgians with a PINES library card have access to materials beyond what is available on their local shelves and enjoy the benefits of a shared collection of approximately 10 million books, tapes, CDs and videos that can be delivered to their home library free of charge. PINES, one of the largest shared library-automation systems in the U.S. uses Evergreen as their ILS. Evergreen is an open-source integrated library system (ILS) software designed to meet the unique functional needs of a large group of public libraries that are committed to sharing materials.
