The Naval Air System Command intends to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Contract to Apache Enterprises for the manufacture/delivery of non-developmental bezel instrumentation lighting kits. These bezel lights shall be designed and constructed to meet the requirements of MIL-L-5057F and SAE AS50571, shall be 5 VAC compatible and shall be identical to the customized bezel and aircraft installation design that is currently undergoing test and evaluation in the E-2C and C-2A aircraft. A total of eleven C-2A aircraft kits (29 bezels per kit) and two E-2C aircraft kits (12 bezels per kit) along with one E-2C trainer kit will be ordered in FY08. As sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of these cockpit lighting kits, only Apache has the requisite knowledge and experience required to successfully manufacture the kits without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of cost to the government.
