The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, Butner, North Carolina, intends to issue a firm-fixed price, sole source purchase order to Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. This non-competitive action is being issued by the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, NC. The Federal Correctional Complex has a need for healthcare services that Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC, Duke University Medical Center can provide that cannot be provided under the current comprehensive medical contract. These services will be for the period of August 1, 2012 through August 31, 2012. The Government believes that Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC, Duke University Medical Center is the only hospital that will satisfy the agency requirement for inmates referred for inpatient and outpatient physician and facility care when care is not otherwise available from the contract provider. The NAICS code is 622110. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, as no solicitation document is available. However any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give a written or fax notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of this published synopsis. Supporting is not a request for competitive quotes. This is sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
