The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is conducting market research to support the USDA ARSS PWA FSCRU Aquaculture Division for a Dual Algae Bioreactor.
This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for quotations.
The purpose of this notice is to obtain information. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition is 334516.
Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.
The government is seeking capability statements from businesses capable of meeting the below minimum specification requirements:
Fully automated algae photobioreactors are needed to reliably produce enough clean algae to feed a large and constant quantity of oyster larvae being reared in the research shellfish hatchery.
Dual Algae Reactor
- Volume needs to be 2500L / 660 gallons
- Due to space restrictions, this equipment should be no larger than 168in L x 96in W x 110in H
- Harvest pump (7 L/min)
- 0.1µm air, vent and media filters
- UV Sterilizer with 0.2µm absolute pre-filter
Single Algae Bioreactor
- Volume needs to be 1250L / 330 gallons
- Due to space restrictions, this equipment should be no larger than 100in L x 96in W x 110in H
- Harvest pump (7 L/min)
- 0.1µm air, vent and media filters
- UV Sterilizer with 0.2µm absolute pre-filter
Respondents shall furnish sufficient technical information necessary for the Government to conclusively determine that they are capable of meeting the technical requirements identified above. Firms believing, they can meet the requirements are encouraged to respond electronically with no less than the following information:
