Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in to make a sole source award to the American College of Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) for it's Medical Research Fellowship Program. The knowledge of expert ACOEM physician consultants will provide the Agency with medical expertise in occupational health and safety issues. For this task, expert ACOEM physicians, or less experienced physician members of ACOEM partnered with an expert ACOEM member, would perform commercial motor vehicle research projects. ACOEM will collaborate with FMCSA on the selection of the FMCSA Medical Fellows, and will publish the project findings. In addition, the FMCSA Medical Fellow Research Program will encourage new interest and involvement by occupational health and safety physicians dedicated to preventing commercial motor vehicle death and injury.
