Project Description is as follows:
These tree thinning projects and stand improvement activities are being implemented as part of the Record of Decision (ROD) and the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of Flagstaff Watershed Protection Project (FWPP). The collaboration between the City of Flagstaff and the U.S. Forest Service was intended to move the forest toward a more restored condition and to limit the potential for undesirable flooding in two key watersheds near Flagstaff, Arizona (the Dry Lake Hills portion of the Rio de Flag Watershed and the Mormon Mountain portion of the Walnut Creek-Upper Lake Mary Watershed). The Dry Lake Hills thinning project is located on the Coconino National Forest, north of Flagstaff, AZ and is comprised 891 acres.
