NOTICE TO BIDDERS - Revised Sealed bids addressed to Mr. Mike R. Perez, City Manager, City of McAllen, will be received on May 01, 2012 until 1:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building (City Hall), Purchasing & Contracting Department (3rd floor), 1300 Houston Avenue, McAllen, Texas at which time they will be taken to the City Commission Chambers on the third floor, and publicly opened and read aloud, for: DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS - GUMWOOD AVENUE (2200 BLOCK) Description of Work: This project, funded through CDBG, will install approximately 324 linear feet of alley re-garding and paving associated concrete apron and curb & gutter construction. A Bidder's Bond from a reliable surety company licensed to operate in the State of Texas or certified Cashier's Check, payable without recourse to the City of McAllen, for the amount of not less than five (5) percent (%) of the total bid shall accompany the bid as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract with the City of McAllen. Payment and Performance Bonds shall be executed except in the event that the total amount bid is $50,000 or less, the successful contractor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the City of McAllen in lieu of a Performance Bond. In the event that the total amount bid is $25,000 or less, the successful contractor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the City of McAllen in lieu of a Payment and Performance Bond. This project is being funded, in part, by Community Development Block Grant funds and is sub¬ject to the following Federal requirements: Executive Order 11246; Clause 3 of the HUD Act of 1968; Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968; and Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts as well as State laws and regulations. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin.
