Dozer Repair
This is a notification that the Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Fort Polk, Louisiana intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract to Caterpillar; for non-personal repair services to support the 46th Engineer Battalion.
Notice of intent is for information purpose only. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) (i). This notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals and no solicitation is available. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811310 - Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance with a size standard of $8.0M.
Description of the requirement:
This is a non-personal services contract to provide the repair of a D7R Dozer (with ripper), Serial # KNA00315. This requirement includes functions, tasks, and responsibilities normally inherent to the removal and installation of a new transmission. The contractor shall receive, account for, process and return the D7R Dozer tendered for repair. The contractor shall provide service personnel that are certified in Caterpillar repair. The contractor shall also provide all parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for the safe repair of the D7R (with ripper) dozer. The contractor shall also calibrate all parts installed in the D7R dozer. The contractor shall validate proper repair with troubleshooting systems as well as under a load test. The contractor shall establish and maintain a system of records to quantify work performed and shall prepare administrative correspondence and reports incidental to the work covered in this requirement.
Period of Performance: Award will be for a two month period of performance starting 27 September 2019 - 27 November 2019.
All sources eligible to perform services must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the services as outlined above. The interest parties shall also furnish a description of their past experience in fulfilling requirement which are the same or similar to this requirement and references for each. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response.
