The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), is a Federally operated school system, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing pre-kindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of Defense (DOD). DoDEA is globally positioned, operating 181 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 12 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoDEA employs approximately 15,000 employees who serve more than 78,000 children of active duty military and DOD civilian families. The purpose of the contract is to provide student transportation services. Safety is of the highest priority entrusted to the contractor under this contract. The contractor shall perform all services in a safe, prudent and professional manner accepting full and sole responsibility for the prompt and proper delivery of services. Maintain good order of passengers at all times. Transportation services for students must be completed in the safest and most efficient manner possible.

The contractor shall provide all personnel including drivers, Safety Attendants/Aides, supervision, services, supplies, and/or equipment necessary to perform student transportation services for DoDEA students within Fort Stewart, Georgia. Contracted services must be compliant all the DoDEA, State, and Federal requirements for student transportation.

The Contractor shall perform daily commute transportation services for eligible dependents residing within the established commuting, areas and outside the established walking areas of the Fort Stewart housing areas, and those students granted eligibility by the DoDEA Transportation Division in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.

This service may require specialized equipment including, but not limited to, special or adapted buses, lifts and ramps to provide transportation for students with disabilities. These services shall be in compliance with all of the Federal, State, and Department of Defense requirements for student transportation. School buses will be provided by the government in support of this contract.
