This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation. Anticipated award date is expected to be on or about 2 December 2010. The requirement is being solicited as a total Small Business Set-Aside using Simplified Acquisition Procedures per FAR Subpart 13. The NAICS Code is 336611 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1000 employees. The solicitation number is HSCG80-11-Q-P45C78. A Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order for the Definite Items is anticipated.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
(a) The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, equipment and such other things as are necessary, except as otherwise specified to perform Dockside repairs and alterations to the vessel in accordance with this solicitation and attached USCGC VALIANT (WMEC-210B) 270 Foot "B" Class Medium Endurance Cutter Work Item 01: Renew #1 and #2 Ship Service Boiler Shells.
(b) Failure to read the specification in its entirety will not relieve the quoter from the responsibility for properly estimating the difficulty or price of successfully performing the work. Failure to do so will be at the quoter's risk.
The following factors will be used to evaluate quotes and are listed in order of importance: 1) Technical ability, 2) Price.
PRICE
Offeror's price shall represent the best price in response to the request for quotes. The price shall be evaluated to determine fairness and reasonableness.
Each quoter shall furnish the information required by the solicitation.
