Notice of Intent to award a sole source purchase order under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 5.207( c) (15).

The United States Department of Agriculture intends to contract with Rapid Genomics on a sole source basis for Genomics Service for tetraploid blueberries. 

There will be no solicitation posted because there was no response to the Sources Sought posting # 12905B21SS0038.

Scope of Work:

Genomics Service:  This service consists of DNA extraction, and evaluation phase that involves probe design, genotyping of a test panel of 192 samples, selection of 20,000 markers that worked well across all 192 for subsequent genotyping. This quote should include bioinformatic support to select the probes to use in the evaluation step and bioinformatic analyses to develop a genotyping platform that is optimal for the tetraploid blueberry.

Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Governments needs no later than response time provided. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to attached POC via email. This synopsis is not considered a request for bid/quote/proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests for technical information will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on a basis of offers received in response to this notice] but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government.

The determination not to compete this action further is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
