The Northeast Medical Products Laboratory (NMPL) performs dissolution analysis of regulated and surveillance drug products on a regular basis. As part of the drug surveillance program, the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDER) requires that the Field Labs perform dissolution analyses to monitor the quality of imported and domestic drug products. Many of the products are extended release capsules and tablets for which the dissolution procedure involves sampling overnight at multiple times. This necessitates the use of a dissolution autosampler that can be programmed to make samplings outside of normal work hours. Acquisition of a dissolution auto sampler pump to work with an existing autosampler will allow the NMPL to process additional samples in an effort to satisfy the needs of its customer (CDER) and promote public protection by monitoring the quality of pharmaceutical products.
