Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), managing contractor of the Savannah River Site (SRS) for the Department of Energy, solicits expressions of interest from companies wishing to license or enter into a Funds-In Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to further develop a Dissolution Actuated Valve Sampler. Engineers at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) have developed a sampling device which can collect uncontaminated discrete fluid samples without utilizing the assistance of a mast or messenger device. The sampler operates passively to eliminate the need for any additional pumps or vacuums. The sampler is both opened and closed within the fluid at the desired sample level; this ensures there is no mixing between fluid layers. Since the sampler is sealed before exiting the fluid it may be washed prior to retrieval thereby reducing any exposure hazards to the operator. Any company interested in licensing this device or participating in a Funds-In CRADA must respond with a letter of interest (may be submitted by email) no later that 30 days from the publication date of this Notice summarizing the company's business and technical expertise and motivation for pursuing this opportunity. Qualified companies will be provided with further information on the technology. Questions and expressions of interest may be addressed to the Point of Contact identified in this Notice. This is not a procurement; it is a request for parties interested in Licensing this invention or participating in a Funds-In CRADA only.
