The U. S. Geological Survey, Geospatial Information Office has a requirement for high-resolution orthoimagery for the Dallas - Fort Worth metropolitan area covering a geographic extent of approximately 4,800 square miles. USGS has the opportunity to obtain all this orthoimagery from North Central Texas Council of Governments at 8.3 % of the cost of the entire project because other agencies and local governments will contribute the remaining funds for this project. Imagery requirements are as follows: 6-inch Ground Sample Distance; true natural color, horizontal accuracy will be consistent with NSSDA standard for 1"=100' mapping; NAD 83 Datum; State Plane, Texas North Central Zone, units in U.S. feet; Tiff file format; USGS high resolution DOQ requirement. Imagery acquisition timeframe is during January - February of 2009. The delivery date is December 15, 2009. Based on information available at this time, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from North Central Texas Council of Governments, 616 Six Flags Drive, Suite 200, Arlington, TX 76011-5888 and proposes to negotiate with that firm only. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required item stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered a non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business June 22, 2009 by 3:00 P.M. Mountain Standard Time. This notice represents the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
