PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Description: The Project includes: a. Construction of Office Building. b. Construction of Emergency Operations Center. c. Construction of Equipment Storage Building. d. Construction of fueling station. e. Construction of compacted gravel pads and access driveway for two 120’ moveable bridge structures. f. Construction of concrete slabs and pads for landscape storage sheds, hazardous waste, and roll off bins. g. Widening of Victoria Street along the front of the maintenance station parcel. h. Extension of water line down Victoria Street to the parcel. i. Installation of fiber-optic cable from the Transportation Management Center to the Emergency Operations Center. j. Paving, lighting, signage, curb, sidewalk, and gutter. k. Environmental compliance. Estimated construction cost: $21.7M The work shall be completed (500) working days from the First Day of Construction as defined in the Notice to Proceed. PUBLIC WORKS The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations and Federal Acquisition Regulation. At the time of submitting a bid, the subcontractor shall possess a valid license issued by the California Contractors State License Board. In addition, the bidder shall be registered with the DIR as a public works contractor. PREVAILING WAGE Subcontractor and its agents, employees, and tiered subcontractors shall comply with provisions of the California Labor Code, including those relating to payment of prevailing rates of wages. Subcontractor and its tiered subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Stronghold will not accept any bid without proof of current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. BONDING Stronghold Engineering, Inc. may require all subcontractors to be prepared to furnish performance and payment bonds issued by an admitted surety in the amount of their bid. Premium cost to be included in bid as a separate bid item. Stronghold Engineering, Inc., at its sole discretion, reserves the right to waive the requirement for such bond, to permit substitute security, or to accept alternate guarantees in lieu of such bonds. SMALL BUSINESS Stronghold Engineering, Inc. is strongly encouraging ALL Small Business Subcontractors and Suppliers to bid on this project including (SBE) - (SDB) - (WBE) - (MBE) - (DBE) - (UDBE) - (WOSB) - (VOSB) - (DVBE) - (SDVOSB) - (HUBZone) and any others not listed. Although prequalification is not required to bid, it shall be the responsibility of each subcontractor submitting bids to the prime contractor to complete the prequalification process as a condition of the contract. Failure to demonstrate sufficient qualifications to perform the work, in the sole discretion of Stronghold, may result in the forfeiture of the Contract.
