The purpose of this contract is to secure services for tree and slash disposal through whole tree chipping for 50 acres, with two option items totaling 300 acres. All activities are to be performed in compliance to the contract terms, specifications, and provisions. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation needs, operating supplies and incidentals.

Location - The project area is located within the boundaries of the Laguna Mountain Recreation Area of the Descanso Ranger District, of the Cleveland National Forest. The units identified for chipping are located in the Laguna Place Project within units 7, 19, 21 ,22, 27, 28, 31 and 33 (see map). The contract will have two option items. Option one is 100 acres (see map). Option 2 is 200 acres (see map). Take I-8 east to Sunrise Highway (S1), turn left and travel north approximately 10 miles. The 50 acre unit is located between Los Huecos Rd., Sunrise Hwy. and Horse Heaven Campground. The 100 and 200 optional acres can both be accessed from Sunrise Hwy, making a left into Wooded Hill. The 200 acre option will be to the North of the Old County Rd. and the 100 acre option to the South of the Old County Road. See attached maps for specific locations of all project boundaries.

Description - The project consist of a variety of species and sizes of trees, some green and some diseased. The trees will be felled by Forest Service crews prior to the implementation of this contract. The felled trees and associated slash will be disposed of with the whole tree chipper.

IMPORTANT: The required equipment includes a whole tree chipper,24" minimum capacity (tracked), and a loader is strongly recommended for minimizing soil damage and increasing efficiency.
