Serving under the general direction of the Supervisory Executive Officer, the incumbent will be part of the Mission's management team. The Executive Office in Juba oversees the provision of a full range of ICASS services as the Alternate Service Provider for US Government Agencies in Juba.
Juba is currently the regional capital for Southern Sudan. In January, 2011, the people of Southern Sudan will vote in an historic referendum which will determine whether Southern Sudan remains a part of Sudan or opts for independence. The candidate selected for this position will serve in Juba during this exciting and critical time, and will likely have the chance to assist in the establishment of a new USAID Mission and a new U.S. Embassy.
The Deputy Executive Officer for USAID/Sudan in Juba reports to the Supervisory Executive Officer, and plays a key role in the supervision and provision of administrative management services to all US Government agencies in Juba.
