Notice of Intent for a three (3) month bridge contract to incumbent contractor Dentrust Dental Colorado PC IAW FAR 6.302 - Only one responsible source (except brand name) from 1 April 2012 - 30 June 2012.

The contractor shall provide all facilities, labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, and supervision required to perform this Performance Work Statement (PWS). The contractor shall provide comprehensive dental services, such as: diagnostic, preventive, restorative, prosthodontic (including implants), endodontic, periodontic, limited minor orthodontic movement and retention, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), oral surgical therapies, and acute care during and after duty hours, as well as associated support services for all Air Force active duty personnel.  Scope of dental services shall not include comprehensive orthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, or orthognathic, reconstructive, TMJ or cosmetic surgery. The quality of dental practice shall at least meet the standards of professional practice, in accordance with the precepts of the Dental Practice Act of Colorado, American Dental Association (ADA); the current version of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals Ambulatory Care Manual; the USAF Health Services Inspection criteria; and the professional standards practiced throughout the Air Force Dental Service, including the USAF Clinical Practice Guidelines, the USAF Clinical Performance Assessment and Improvement (CPA & I) Program standards, Oct 1995, and Air Force Instruction 47-101, Chap 6 par 6.26 -6.26.2.1, Managing Air Force Dental Services.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(15)(ii), "all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Response deadline 27 Feb 2012, 1000 AM MST.  Not awarding this contract would cause serious injury to the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of the work required for the bridge contract period would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract, based on this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
