City of Batavia Legal Notice Invitation for Bid The City of Batavia, IL will accept sealed bids for the “Demolition of 916 Park Street, Batavia, Illinois”. The project for which bids are to be received includes asbestos removal, interior clean out where needed, demolition of the single-family residence and site restoration. As of 12:00 pm, Monday, March 1, 2021 the complete bid package may be obtained from the City of Batavia Community Development Department – Building Division, 100 North Island Avenue upon email request to
[email protected] or on the City’s website at cityofbatavia.net. Note that due to the current pandemic Community Development offices are currently closed to the public. Addenda will be issued only to bidders of record. Prices quoted must be valid for a minimum of (90) ninety days from the date of the bid opening. Bids will be received by the Building Division, at the above address until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. All bids will be publicly opened at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 either in person or by a virtual medium depending on conditions. NO EMAILED OR FAXED BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Bidders are advised of the following requirements of this contract: 1) Illinois Prevailing Wage; 2) 5%/$500.00 Bid Security with the bid submittal; 3) 110% Performance Bond. The City Council of the City of Batavia reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids. The City of Batavia does not discriminate in admission, access to, treatment, or employment in its programs and activities. The City of Batavia also reserves the right to require the low bidder to file proof of, within seven (7) days of the bid opening, his ability to finance and execute the project. This proof shall include, but not be limited to, a financial statement, list of equipment owned by bidder, backlog of jobs under a Contract only to a Bidder who furnishes satisfactory evidence that he has the ability, sufficient capital, facilities, and plant to enable him to prosecute the work successfully and promptly, and to complete the work within the time specified in the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, offers, or proposal submitted, or to advertise for new bids. The City reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the award of a Contract for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days after the date of opening the bids.
