Summary Santa Monica Fire Department (SMFD) is requesting a bid response for a portable water deionizing system at its six Fire facilities. The bid shall include service, delivery and maintenance of the system. 1.2. Background Santa Monica has approximately 30 apparatus housed in six locations. In an effort to reduce water consumption and the use of cleaning agents, SMFD has successfully made the transition to the use of a portable water deionizing system at all six facilities for the past five years. We require require 14” diameter units with a standard garden hose attachment. SMFD requires eight deionization units to maintain the fleet at all Fire facilities within Santa Monica.
