Under the Authority of Federal Acquisitions Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301 and 6.302, The U.S. Census Bureau intends to contract with the State of North Carolina, Department of Health & Human Services, on a sole source basis to provide copies of death certificates. Contractor shall provide a copy of 1,069 death certificates, identified by the certificate number, and year of death. Copies of the death certificates do not need to be certified but must be a copy of the original, and hand-written. The period of performance for this requirement will be from the date of award through July, 2010. This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written responses are received, a contract will be issued to the State of North Carolina, Department of Health & Human Services, without further notices.
