The project will consist of providing labor, equipment and materials to place and compact fill material on the Dearington Elementary School playground site located at 1605 and 1615 First Street – Lynchburg, Virginia to construct a general purpose athletic (kickball) field. The contractor will be expected to transport and place approximately 3,257 cubic yards (compacted in place quantity) sourced from a combination of two City-owned fill stockpile sites (1.) 200 Pulaski Street and (2.) 329 Rutherford Street. Material is to be placed at the playground site with minimal disturbance of the underlying soils as the site occupies a previously abandoned landfill. Contractor will also be expected to permanently stabilize the placed fill per the attached plans along with appropriate temporary erosion and sediment controls during construction. Contractor is required to obtain appropriate land disturbance permit as part of the work.
