Sealed Bids for the construction of the Dauphin County Courthouse - Holding Area HVAC Renovations will be received by Dauphin County at the Dauphin County Controller’s Office, Room 106, Dauphin County Courthouse, Front and Market Streets, Harrisburg PA 17101, until Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm local prevailing time; at which time, said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room, 4th Floor, Administration Building, 2 South Second Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Project entails the demolition and removal of an existing HVAC system and the installation of a new HVAC system to serve the Ground floor of the building, known as the Sheriffs Holding Cell. Work entails the installation of six horizontal mounted recessed ceiling cassette air handling units and three dual circuit outdoor mounted heat pump condensing units. Electrical wiring, duct systems, and piping is included in this work. This project will be constructed during off peak hours due to the daily uses of the building. Off peak hours are defined in Article 7 of the General Conditions. A site examination and pre-bid conference will be offered to prospective bidders on December 14, 2018 at 7:00 am local prevailing time in the Lobby of the Administration Building, 2 South Second Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The pre-bid conference is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Copies of the Contract Documents, including the comprehensive advertisement and instructions to schedule a site examination, may be obtained at no cost at www.PennBid.net. No later than 2pm on January 10, 2019, a Bid Security in the form a Certified Check or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than 10% of the bid amount, shall be furnished with all original bid documents in a sealed envelope; marked with the project title and received by the Dauphin County Controller’s Office Room 106, Dauphin County Courthouse, Front and Market Streets, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Dauphin County reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, mistakes, informalities, to accept any bid or combination of bids that are deemed to be in the best interest of Dauphin County, and to reject any or all proposals. All bids shall be irrevocable for sixty (60) days after the bid opening date as provided by the Act of November 26, 1978 (P.L. 1309, No. 317), as amended by the Act of December 12, 1994 (P.L. 1042, No. 142).
